  • I am a Provisionally Licensed Counselor (PPC), dedicated to building a connection with the community. I primarily work with adolescents and young adults who struggle with a range of symptoms including anxiety, ADHD, and substance use. My counseling approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), play therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies to meet each client's unique needs.

I recently moved to Gillette after earning my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South Dakota State University in December 2023. Additionally, I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Black Hills State University in May 2020. When not in the office, you will find me with my horses or enjoying the outdoors.

  • I am a dedicated mental health professional with expertise in addressing a spectrum of mental health issues and substance abuse. Specializing in Borderline Personality Disorder, addiction, and trauma, I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. Holding a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Colorado Christian University, I am also certified in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). My therapeutic approach encompasses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Play Therapy, and family-oriented methods. Additionally, I integrate Gottman's principles and attachment theory into my practice. Upon request, I provide faith-based counseling, offering a comprehensive and compassionate approach to support individuals on their journey to mental well-being.

  • I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor primarily specializing in EMDR and somatic practices for treatment of trauma. I also see clients for anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and other common mental illness issues through use of CBT, DBT and other modalities.

    My approach

My most common theoretical approach would be trauma focused but specializing in EMDR. I use various other theoretical modalities such as CBT and DBT, but I do not like to limit the client if another modality works best for them.

    My focus

Clients I typically work with come from a trauma background. My passion is helping clients through EMDR along with teaching practical coping skills that you might find through CBT.   I specialize working with veterans and first responders, using EMDR to help process painful memories to achieve relief and healing.

    My communication style

My sessions are client-focused and compassionate, with the goal of building rapport and trust. Client's need to know that they are safe, accepted, and not judged. My communication style is caring and understanding.

    My journey to mental healthcare

I always knew I wanted to help people, and when looking at careers this one stood out from all the others in the best way possible. I know how helpful it was for me when I first started seeing a therapist for childhood trauma. I think one of the most valuable things I learned in therapy, and it's something I want for my clients too, is the ability to speak what's true for you. For some, it's the first time you'll be even admitting it. It's powerful.

    My goals for you

I like to ask clients what their goals are and then put together a comprehensive treatment plan. I check in with clients regularly to see if goals have changed and make the necessary adjustments. It is important to me that the client is on board with their treatment plan.

    My first session with you

Clients can expect some questions above and beyond intake information so I can get a good idea of additional areas we might work together. I like to hear about the client's current situation along with their childhood and adolescent details.
